Green Shuttered Barn

An old barn stands in a field in North Carolina somewhere along Route 17 north to New Bern.  It's a peaceful setting that makes you wonder about the land before the highway.  Driving through North Carolina you get to see barns and old farmhouses in all different shapes and stages -- from active to abandoned - each has its own charm.
